OutFront GPS iPhone App Review

The voucher

Fast and precise synchronizations of GPSAutomatically with websiteIntegrates with Facebook and Twitter

Bad

App store link (launches iTunes)

OutFront (US $ 4.99) is a GPS iPhone app that tracks your time, distance and pace for a variety of outdoor activities, running, cycling and sailing. Since I am a racer, I put the app OutFront to the test to see how it stacks up against favorites like RunMeter or RunKeeper Pro.

Read: Best execution of applications for the iPhone

The first thing you see when you start the application is a login screen. you must create an account, which is free and easy to do by OutFront app. Once you have completed the task, the homepage is fairly simple.I recommend, by extracting the menu settings before so you can enter your weight and change the default units from kilometers to miles.

OutFront integrates with Facebook and Twitter, you can share your workouts with friends. You can have the application automatically send out a Tweet when I start or stop an execution, for example. While that is a characteristic, RunMeter, my app running-rated, has more features as automatic email warnings, announcements and voice virtual competitions.

The application of OutFront integrates with mapmytracks.com, a center of online activity that offers more reporting options and the ability to view other users ' activities. After a race, app OutFront automatically transfers data at mapmytracks.com so you can see total downloads and route maps. the site also includes some nifty graphs that show the elevation gain and pace of fluctuations during execution.

Starting from rush OutFront is simple.Just tap ' start ' on the homepage and start searching for a signal GPS app.Of all applications running that I tested, OutFront has time connection faster GPS--took just a second or two to gain a strong GPS signal in most of my test. The application works fine when running, although numbers may be larger. That is one thing that I really liked about applying RunMeter, which displays all your data running in large numbers that are very easy to read.

Finished running app OutFront Show total distance and duration, average pace, plus a map of route. OutFront is very accurate and I was very impressed by real-time maps and data running.

The only disappointment with OutFront is that which does not include any controls iPod from Dashboard screen. you can still listen to the iPod while it is running, but you'll have to get playlist started before you start the application.

OutFront lacking some functionality than other GPS for running applications, and has no way to control your iPod playlist. However, some runners not care about features like voice alarms or virtual competitions--they just want a quick app that connects with GPS and Displays accurate information. If describing, OutFront is worth a download. I was very impressed with the speed and accuracy of this app; I just hope that developers include iPod controls in a future update.Total: 4 stars out of 5.

What you need to

OutFront works with iPhone GPS enabled as the iPhone 3 G, 3Gs and 4. It requires iPhone OS 3.1.2 or later.

JBL On Stage IIIp Review

Works with
iPod with dock connector
iPhone
iPhone 3 G

The voucher
Remote handles all of the features of iPod
Portable – light, can use batteries
Solid Sound

Bad
So-so low
Too expensive

The price
US $ 169.95

JBL On Stage IIIp iPod speaker dock Pack very small in its shape. But, due to ordinary sound and a price slightly high, isn't quite as distinct as some of its features could lead one to expect.

The IIIp On Stage appears as a small black plate, or a disc with a speaker grille around his outer edge.It is small, great about how my hand – and has been designed to be portable: it can be powered by an AC adapter or 6 AA batteries and weighs only 1 pound.

As with most iPod speaker docks, IIIp On Stage charge your iPod or iPhone while it is docked and includes a stereo jack for connecting additional online music players.

But other music players aren't concerned. the question is: as if an iPod plays music game through the IIIp On Stage?

The sound On Stage IIIp is solid. While it is not to confuse the sound produced here with a speaker addresses audiophiles, for a small portable system, the audio is acceptable.

Music generally sounds good and can get very strong, but on close listening, sound quality Erodes awhile. These listen close reveals a middling bass response and a sound that is not as rich as that produced by other speaker or profound. Triple produced by sound On Stage IIIp slightly airy and high-end sounds can be a bit strong, especially at high volume.

This figure, you'll be happier if you use this a speaker for a room or an Office, not for political parties or large rooms that need big sound.

While the sound on stage IIIp is just acceptable, the remote control is almost perfect. most speaker iPod remotes can do a few things: control the volume and power and move back and forth within playlists. What can no longer do, though, you pass all the iPod menu.

Remote control of on stage IIIp can do this by making it extremely capable and useful. This feature is common on JBL products, but missing in what they produce most of other manufacturers. I don't know why is it so hard for other manufacturers add this functionality, but JBL earns major points with me to get it.

Although JBL says that the IIIp On Stage works with iPhone, when I tried to use my 3 G, the phone told me that the speakers are not designed to work with. I have ignored the warning, though, and was able to use them without difficulty and without going into flight mode. ain't a problem, actually, but a small hiccup.

One thing that prevents IIIp On Stage to get a higher score is your price .US $ 170 is feels overpriced, especially when compared to JBL On Stage 200iD, that produces the sound just as good, if not better, and costs $ 20. such a difference of $ 20 may be due to greater portability of IIIp, but that factor unmatched quality in my opinion.

The speaker dock iPod JBL On Stage IIIp is a solid product. offers a top-notch remote control, sound solid and portability. worth considering, but if its price was a little less or the quality of the sound a bit higher, would be even more worthy.

Red iPhone Battery Icon?

Sometimes when you try to activate my iPhone, is not responding. All I see on screen is an iPhone battery icon blinking red. What does that mean?Reply:

This means that you haven't charged recently the battery of iPhone enough and almost out of phone juice. how to show the icon under the battery, you must connect your iPhone to a computer or a wall charger and leave some energy into it ready.

The phone can still perform a while in this State, but obviously is not usable. This is done to save energy and protect the data on your phone.

But, just because you can expect as this some time doesn't mean you should take the odds. If you see the battery icon blinking red iPhone, charge the phone as soon as is possible, switch off the phone to save more power and plugin when you can.

Possible iTunes Rentals reboots?

Reply:

Sometimes you lose connections while downloading purchased content, such as a rented movie from the iTunes store.

When it comes to iTunes Movie Rentals, only because the download did not complete successfully, it does not mean you're stuck. If you lose your connection while downloading, you can restart the download once your connection comes back and get the movie. Here's how:

If the connection goes off, troubleshoot. Once you're connected to the Internet, in iTunes, go download center in the left navigation bar. This will show the items that have been downloaded from iTunes.

You'll know that the download was interrupted due to a lost Internet connection (and not something else) If you see a message next to the far right of the window:

Arrested (err =-3256)

Next to this error is a small button that looks like an arrow. click that and will resume the download.

Apple trumpeted the iPad, its first tablet, how to be "magic" and "revolutionary".This first-generation model rather one of those things – is not yet. instead, is a luxury terrifying device that takes the first step towards achieving revolutionary promise of Apple.

As we'd expect from Apple, the iPad is a gadget of physically beautiful, highly usable refined to a State of excellence. The iPad is light – only 1.5 kg (or 1.6 in the model 3 G) – and it feels great seal or with a hand or two.

Its 9.7 inches screen is a joy to practically everything, especially games, video and web (the only drawback is that non-native apps don't always look great in full screen mode, but that will change as those apps are updated), but not so big as to be cumbersome.

While the screen is great looking, is also a magnet for the fingerprints and smudges – even more than the iPhone.Apple iPhone 3Gs screen applied coating "oleophobic" (which I do not like, but that is another matter). why not do the same with the iPad is staggering. Apple could have, at least, including a cleaning cloth as it with iPod. Watching spots on the screen is little.

The iPad is running a modified version of iPhone OS that was optimized for big screen of iPad.It offers all the strengths of the iPhone OS, but adds new features like drop down menus that present more information and larger space options. These changes will be welcome to anyone who has tried to work with long lists or large amounts of data on the screen of the iPhone. They also move some options of a Setup Panel and in the app and smooth of the overall process of working the iPad.

But, along with the strengths of the iPhone OS, the iPad has also its weakness: no multitasking, support for unified wire, or features powerful mail business. Many of these shortcomings (with the exception of tie.We may need to terminate the relationship AT&T/Apple to get that) will disappear with the release of iPhone OS 4.0 this fall.

In some respects, the iPad feels like an iPhone. But with the addition of the new operating system, will become more like a rugged handheld computer that can challenge the desktop capabilities for many standard applications.

Why is running the iPhone OS, the iPad Gets the thing that contains his greatest promise and potential: support of App Store.

Embedded applications range from acceptable to large and include the things you would expect – Web browser, media player, calendar, photos, etc – but almost limitless options in the app store are what make the iPad so exciting and fun.

Applications that had more attention of iPad launch – the NetFlix and ABC video players, Marvel Comics ' player and online shop, the iWork suite, iBook – demonstrate the versatility and potential in the app store with it, users will be limited only by imagination and skill of the developers (well, that and app approval technology and Apple system restrictions, which are not insignificant factors).

The iPhone platform has already gained considerable momentum as a gaming platform; that doesn't slow down the iPad. Indeed, given its large screen, multitouch functions and motion sensors, the games are likely to get more sophisticated, engaging and impressive.

Among many other things it does, the iPad is a strong competitor – possibly higher – dedicated eBook readers like the Kindle Amazon or Barnes and Noble's Nook.

Basic features of eBook is delivered via Apple iBook free app, which is supported by an online store.

The characteristic of iBook that probably has gotten more attention is the page-turning animation well executed (so sensitive that you can move the page minutely, back and forth and not blink). but it is above all Eye-Candy.

Using iBook is quite pleasant look good, pages can have their font, text size and contrast custom, and yet I haven't experienced any eye strain.

When it comes to functions – bookmarking, integration of the dictionary, link – iBook works well and much like other applications eBook. But is a bit slow at times, especially when turning the pages, so here's hoping Apple refines that in later versions.

The archive of iBook is a little sparse right now. We hope that the selection will grow there the way who grew music library iTunes store – constantly at first, and then exponentially, such that almost anything you could possibly want is available. the risk is that the archive instead of iBook follows the path of the video section of the iTunes store, which has never had enough titles to gain real momentum. If iBook meet that fate, Apple incursion into ebook probably will fail.

But, thanks to the App Store, the iPad is not limited to iBook for reading Amazon app. switch is available, as it Barnes and Noble reader (along with many other eBook readers). fans of comics are also in luck, with numerous combinations of great player/store by Marvel, comiXology and many others. in all cases, the iPad screen provides a nice reading experience.

One of the advantages that continue to have books in ebook (in addition to pure pleasure, texture) is their portability in places not bring consumer. recent ebook readers have solved the problem for reading the bathroom, but have yet to read in the tub (which is a shame).

In most other rooms in the House, though, the iPad is perfectly sharp. This may be the best web browsing experience you've ever had in bed or on the couch, and can be up there in the departments of mobile gaming and entertainment.

Whereas browsing on the iPhone in bed requires positioning iPhone only right angle to prevent its screen rotating lock switch of iPad ingeniously rotation screen solves this problem.

These are areas where industrial design really shines iPad. it just feels good in your hands, around, resting on the knee – better than any laptop, certainly.

Conserve battery iPad

Apple claims a battery pretty impressive for the iPad-up to 10 hours of use on a full charge. But that doesn't mean you want to find a way to squeeze more life out of it, or that you will not need emergencies where you must sacrifice some features to use the device in a little more. For such situations, here are ten tips on battery iPad Conference.

Maintain the connection WiFi enabled drains battery, if you're connected to the Internet or not.So, if you're not connected-and is not intended to be a bit of time-you can conserve battery power by turning off WiFi's iPad. to do this by tapping-> network-settings-> WiFi > and moving the cursor to "off".

Only some models have built in iPad data connection 3 G, but those who download their batteries when using your Internet connection is always on 3 G provides. If you do not need to connect to the web or need to keep the battery more must connect, turn off the 3 G. To do this by tapping the app Settings-General-> network > and then sliding 3 G to "off".

You may be getting the idea now that wireless networks of any type drains the battery. It is true, so that another way to save battery life is off Bluetooth. Bluetooth is used to connect devices such as keyboards, speakers and headphones for the iPad. If you're not going to connect to any of those, turn off Bluetooth. Do it via settings-General-> Bluetooth >-> and moving the slider to "off".

This feature automatically pushes data like email from the Web to your iPad when connected to the Internet.Because the wireless networks always cost battery, if you're not going to use this feature, turn it off. You need to set your email to verify on a regular basis (if you want to receive emails on your iPad, that is), but that is often a good trade for improved battery. Deactivate this function via settings-> mail, contacts, calendars > fetch new data--> and move the slider to "Push" to "off".

If you're not using push data and want to receive email, you must tell the iPad how often you need to verify your e-mail account. less frequently happens, the battery will be for the battery. Update these settings in the settings-> mail, contacts, calendars > fetch new data-and change the settings just below the menu Push.

Another form of wireless communication employing the iPad is location services. This is what feeds the GPS capabilities of the device. If you do not need to use that (not required to obtain driving directions, use location-aware application as Foursquare, etc), disable services positions via settings > location services-and move the cursor to "off".

Screenshot of iPad can automatically adjust the brightness of the environment in his room.Using this feature will reduce battery drain iPad because the screen is automatically dim the same brilliant locations.Turn this one via settings > brightness->-and automatic Brightness, move the cursor to "on".

Setting display brightness controls the default brightness of iPad screen. As you might think, your screen is bright, the juice more battery of iPad is required, which reduces its life. Thus, the dimmer can hold screen, the longest battery life of your iPad. optimize this settings-settings > brightness and moving the slider to comfortable settings.

The iPod app on the iPad has a built in Equalizer music that automatically adjust the settings (bass, treble, etc.) to improve the sound of music. Since this is a calculation on-the-fly, however, drains battery of iPad. If you're not an audiophile high-end, probably you can live without this being filmed most of the time. to keep it, go to settings-> iPod > EQ->-and set it to "off".

You can determine how quickly the iPad should lock screen when not in use The shorter time before it crashes, you'll use less battery. to change this setting, go to Settings – > General – > auto lock and choose the time interval.

How to create iPhone folders

With the introduction of IOS 4, you can now organize applications into folders. Folders help reduce clutter on the screen of your iPhone and group together similar applications. For example, with a folder, you can put all your games in a single place and have them take only one icon on the screen, rather than take pages of icons.

This article helps you learn to create, name and edit folders.

Giving iPod with music On It

This question is usually in two circumstances: you're giving a new iPod as a gift or a competition, but want to load it with music is expected as the recipient, or you're hand down an old iPod to a family member or friend now that you've received a new one.

Apple makes this hard to do (and with good reason, as we shall see later). from design, sync iPod to one computer and when they are synchronized with another, music on them is deleted and replaced by music from the second computer.

Nevertheless, there are ways to give the gift of an iPod fully stocked.

Delete Voicemails, Save Space

On a device like the iPhone, you're always after more space (this is particularly true for the first generation models from 8 GB and 16 GB – which is not only enough room for music, videos, contacts, photos and programs!), and since there is no way to make the iPhone more storage, you need to find tricks to save space.

This has become a great concern for me, as I noticed that my iPhone 8 GB was rapidly running out of space — I had less than 700 MB free. But how this had happened?I hadn't added a substantial amount of new content. Admittedly, I added some songs here and there, but they couldn't have amounted to more than 5-10 songs.

And, over time, the available space has gotten smaller and smaller, even without new additions? What was happening?

And then it hit me: iPhone voice messages are not deleted completely until they are deleted. sure, you can mark the voicemails as deleted, but I am still on the phone — occupying disk space — until clear.

After a lot of old cancelled voicemail, I recovered about 700 MB of space. the iPhone is supposed to automatically delete voice messages after a certain period of time, but if you're eager to get more disk space without waiting here's how:

Tap the phone icon. Tap Voicemail icon in the bottom right. If that were deleted messages that have not been deleted, the list of Visual Voicemail will include an item on the lower part, called "deleted messages. Select en. In the screen, select the button" clear all "permanently delete messages and free up valuable disk space.

Controlling 3rd Gen Shuffle

Unlike previous models, the third generation iPod shuffle doesn't have all the buttons on the body of the device to control playback. Instead, the device is controlled via a remote control is connected to the headphones included. However, the remote, includes only three buttons – volume, volume down and a clicker in the Centre.

So, with only three buttons to work with, how to control the third-generation iPod shuffle?

Reply:

For music

The volume up and down buttons are pretty obvious.

When you click the Center button, you can control the iPod like this:

Single click: play/pause music

Double-click: skip to next track

Triple-click to: skip to previous track

For VoiceOver

If you're using VoiceOver, a characteristic that speaks the names of songs and playlists, the remote control also works this way:

Listen to the title and artist to play the song: hold down the button.

To switch between playlists: press and hold the button until you hear a tone. Then you'll hear the names of your playlists on iPod. when they feel the playlist you want, click the new button to select it.
